In-game Rewards from the Card Game - Wednesday, May 31, 2006
UDE has announced that certain cards will enable you to get in-game World of Warcraft items. The cards will have a scratch-off section, similar to a lottery ticket, that contains a unique code. After scratching off the foil and revealing the code, you'll be able to enter the code into a website. Your online World of Warcraft game character will then receive a special in-game item. So far Blizzard is planning on all the in-game items to be purely cosmetic. No Epics for you!
Hiding all the codes under a scratch-off section on the card is a great idea. It enables the individual cards to be more easily sold. As long as the card isn't scratched off, you can be sure no one has already used the code. This will potentially create a hot market for these cards. After all, the purely cosmetic Murloc pets have been selling on eBay for upwards of $600. I wouldn't be surprised if certain rare scratch off cards will sell for even more.
Update: Now more information has been released and I've posted details on all of the rewards and how to obtain them. Click here to read more.

I agree about the market for these loot cards. People seem to be willing to pay absolutely insane amounts of money for rare items. I don't think they'll be selling for $600 like the murloc though, since the murloc will probably be harder to come by than any loot card they might print.
You never know....
How many people went to BlizzCon? Each person got a murky. How many of them were willing to sell their pet? How many rare cards will be printed? How many will be willing to give up their cool new pet/trinket? I know I will have a tough time deciding which to sell ><
Any idea about how they work? I know there will be a number under the scratch off area, but what I am really interested in, is whether or not it tells you on the card what the reward is or if you have to enter the number to find out. It would be really annoying to go through a stack of reward cards, scratching off the number (thus hindering any resale options), and then decide that you dont want the reward.
The Murloc cards have also had thier price bumpped up quite a bit by their ability to get people into a Burning Crusade Beta
my friend got a code from it and it gave him a lvl 60 riding tiger mount from the night elf race.. it looked sweet, u could see though it and it had electric bolts shooting from it, the graphics on it were insane
When it says "Enter the code into a website", what website are you refering to?
If you need to turn in points, first go to www.ude.com/points
If you just have a mount or tabard card, you can go to http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/promotion.html to enter your code to redeem the card.
